Government, at whatever level, is about trust. In a democracy we delegate others to assume responsibility - rightly or wrongly.

Short has undermined this core principle. She has established the dubious principle that an individual is above collective responsibility.

In doing so she has not revealed anything other than telling the world that some elements of Labour cannot be trusted to govern.
