Word-code is a word processing system that identifies polysemous1 and homographic2 words and grades them according to levels of possible ambiguity. A screen-view option highlights these words using a 5-colour scale. In order to clarify ambiguity, the writer selects from the menu of meanings drawn from a consensus-list of word definitions. A concealed tag identifies the selected meaning. The reader, with a compatible system, views a coloured display showing the ambiguous words tagged by the writer. This enable the reader to reveal the designated word-meanings.
